Mary Of Puddin Hill Easter Chocolate Tour

Elaborate chocolate creations took up to two years to make.

Mary of Puddin Hill, Greenville, TX, will conduct the annual Easter Tour of its collection of chocolate creations April 3-23,  2006. This artistry of Mary of Puddin Hill’s chocolatiers has been featured in Texas Highways, Americana and Southern Living magazines and on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas.

The displays include:
Panorama Sugar Eggs. These works or art are created to commemorate special historical events. Each egg is approximately two feet high, crafted of real sugar and decorated inside with sculpted chocolate scenes. These scenes honor the Dallas Cowboys, Christopher Columbus, the Olympics, Texas Ranger baseball and other favorites.

Our Chocolate Carousel. The revolving, seven-foot carousel has three ponies, Pegasus (in dark chocolate), the Unicorn (in white chocolate) and the Old-fashioned Carousel Pony (in peanut butter coating and milk chocolate), all elaborately decorated with hand-painted trim including edible gold leaf.

Three-story Furnished Victorian Doll House and General Store. This work or art was two years in the making. Everything in the house and store is made of chocolate, down to mice in the attic, an Oriental rug on the floor, paintings on the walls and pickles on the shelves. It is all there in exquisite detail. The dollhouse alone took over 300 pounds of chocolate to make.

The Puddin Hill Hall of Fame. This chocolate gallery of famous and infamous characters of bunny and egg history, such as Cleo-egg-tra, Elvis Pr-eggs-ly, Bunny-Jamin Franklin, Easter Williams, Hare Opra, and many others. There is a shotgun bunny wedding and a royal court.

Visitors will also be able to see Puddin Hill’s candy and chocolate kitchens. A buffet will be available as well as soup and sandwiches made to order. Groups greater than six should make reservations.

Mary of Puddin Hill is located on Interstate 30 at exit 95 (Division St.) in Greenville, about 50 miles northeast of Dallas. For information and reservations, visit www.puddinhill.com.
