Chocolate Stop:
Tuscany Restaurant in Wheeling IL for Nutella Pizza

Chef Bolla Loza from Tuscany Restaurant in Wheeling IL makes Chocolate Nutella Pizza. Chef Loza traveled to Italy a couple years ago to get some inspiration for his cooking. While in Lucca, Italy, he fell in love with the dessert. When he returned to Tuscany in Wheeling, he recreated the dessert. It’s not officially on the menu, but people know to ask for it.

"We now have to keep Nutella in stock at the restaurant which wasn't always the case.

Tuscany sells more Nutella Pizzas when we keep them off the menu. This creates a bit of curiosity when people see others order it, and it gives the server a chance to really explain the dish to the customer," says Bolla.

Chocolate Nutella Pizza Recipe

2 oz Mascarpone Cheese
4 oz Nutella
Pizza Dough.

Mix Nutella and Mascarpone together. Roll out pizza dough and place mixture in center. Fold the pizza dough in half and press the edges together to form a seal. Place in a pre-heated 550 degree oven for 4 minutes or until it starts to brown. Pull from oven, drizzle with chocolate sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Garnish with choice of fruit (Chef Bolla recommends strawberries or bananas).
