Chocolate Stop: Vero in New York |

|
Who knew back in 1939 when Nestle created the Toll House Cookie that it would become one of the most popular baked goodies on the planet? While this dessert may seem easy to prepare, the cookies are flown fresh every day from Carol’s Cookies in Chicago, voted most popular chocolate chip cookie by People Magazine. And if you can’t make it to Vero here are tips to make the it at home. Vero’s Cookie Monster
1 plate-sized chocolate chip cookie (preferably from Carol’s Cookies in Chicago) Place warm cookie on plate, top with ice cream and whipped cream, drizzle with raspberry and chocolate coulis, and garnish with fresh fruit. Sommelier Kasi Shelton recommends pairing it with a lightly sparkling red dessert wine with flavors of ripe raspberries and strawberries a dry rose wine with hints of vanilla and red berries and an acidity that easily complements the rich creaminess of the dessert. |
