The tour started with a history of chocolate.

Walking above the production area, we watched chocolate production from the cocoa bean to the making of creamy fudge and toffees in copper pots to yummy bits being packed in beautiful gift boxes ready to be shipped out to make the world a happier place. The tour ended in the Butlers Chocolate Experience room, an interactive mini factory where the young and young-at-heart can see up close some of the areas seen on the factory floor, including a machine that spins chocolate bunnies to make them hollow. Guests are encouraged to try their hand at decorating and can take their decorated chocolate home. There was plenty of chocolate tasting.
After all, they think chocolate can make the world a better place. They say, “… sounds a bit crazy: the idea that chocolate could make the world a nicer place. But hear us out. Because at Butlers, when we look at one of our roasted almond pralines, we don’t just see a chocolate. What we see is a little moment of happiness. And we reckon that if just such a moment could be experienced by a great many people, and on a regular basis, why then the world might become a happier place. You see, since we were founded– in Dublin’s Lad Lane in 1932–we’ve aimed to bring happiness to the world through chocolate.” Ah… what a concept. Spreading happiness worldwide… one chocolate bite at a time. So easy and so delicious. Visit
