New Artisan Chocolate Cafe
Opens in Orange County, CA

“Where chocolates, gelato and crepes meet art” is how Tracey Downey describes her new Chocolate Studio and Cafe in Laguna Niguel.

Trained by top pastry chefs, chocolatiers and food scientists, Downey has created Downey’s Chocolates, reminiscent of European chocolate shops, where patrons can savor the chocolates with espresso or crepes.

Downey is the daughter of late night talk show host Morton Downey Jr and has designed a masculine line of chocolates in his memory, fittingly called the BigMouth collection.

Downey is assisted by a team of professionals who have graduated from top pastry schools and worked in the finest hotels. In February 2007, they will begin teaching classes for both children and adults. The Cafe features an art gallery that spotlights local artists. “All of the art is available for purchase and will change every six months to keep it fresh” says Downey.
