Vermont: Festival of Sweets November 21 and 22, 2009



 
 


The Festival of Sweets (formerly the Vermont Chocolate Show) is set for November 21 and 22, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel Burlington, in South Burlington. The Festival will include educational programs, cooking demonstrations and regional cake makers, chocolatiers and confectioners.

The event will also include specialty cake and sculpture competitions, which will be on exhibit. Hours are Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The purpose of the Festival of Sweets is to promote the artistry and craftsmanship of confectioners from Vermont, New England, New York, and beyond.

Vendors will be showcasing and selling their confectionary products and services.

Experts will provide cooking demonstrations, holiday entertainment ideas, and other educational programs throughout the weekend.

Specialty cake and sculpture competitions will be held and the creations will be on exhibit.

Pastry students from the New England Culinary Institute, Paul Smith College, and St. Johnsbury Academy will compete for prizes for the best chocolate sculpture, best novelty cake, and best wedding cake. The Specialty Cake competitions are sponsored by King Arthur Flour.>
