Chuao (pronounced chew-WOW) Chocolatier, makers of artisan chocolate
in Southern California have added two new product lines.
Choco-Pods are filled with fruit
flavors, including passion fruit, candela, and strawberry. The bar
is shaped like a cacao pod and only has 60 calories. Bars are sold
in a compact package that holds six pods. They are available at
Whole Foods and at retail and coffee shops.
Twist Sets feature trios of cubes
filled with different delicacies and allow chocolate lovers to
choose between two variations, the Carambolas or Origins Twist. The
Carambolas Twist features almonds covered in Chuao Chocolatier’s
signature Spicy Maya chocolate, caramelized hazelnuts coated in
Venezuelan chocolate and a blend of aromatic spices, and caramelized
macadamia nuts in Venezuelan dark chocolate with a touch of smoky
chipotle chilies. The Origins Chocolate Twist contains cubes with
different percentages of chocolate named for celebrated
cacao-producing regions in Venezuela: Chuspa 41percent milk
chocolate, Choroní 61percent dark chocolate and 74percent Todasana
dark chocolate. The Twists sets are available at all five Chuao
Chocolatier locations in Southern California and online.
Named after the cacao-producing region of Chuao in central Venezuela,
Chuao Chocolatier combines uses single-bean Venezuelan chocolate.
