Quick Chocolate Bite: Chocolate Soup Dumplings

Rickshaw Dumpling Bar on West 23^rd Street in New York, a quick-service eatery specializing in dumplings and only dumplings, offers a surprising dessert dumpling, the Chocolate Soup Dumpling. Under a crisp coating of black sesame seeds, a sweet sticky rice cake gives way to a warm, gooey chocolate center.

The bite-sized confection is  the invention of Anita Lo, Rickshaw’s  award-winning, Michelin-starred consulting chef. Lo, whose experience includes stints at  Bouley, Chanterelle and Maxims, is also owner and chef of Annisa. She was recently seen on Iron Chef  on the Food Channel, where she defeated Chef Mario Batali.
